With electronics materials, the difference between success and failure comes down to a few critical molecules. So the only way to manage that risk is to carefully craft the quality of the product from start to finish. This is the principle behind Silecs' state-of-the-art manufacturing and development facilities in Espoo, Finland.
This new facility was designed from the ground-up with a revolutionary approach to materials manufacturing and applications processes. First, all manufacturing is performed in semiconductor quality clean room conditions, mirroring the production techniques of microelectronics manufacturers. Full traceability is maintained on incoming raw materials and the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitors the lot to lot consistency. Once Quality Assurance has approved those materials, they are loaded into processing reactors, which are computer-controlled for precise, repeatable control of heating and other critical parameters. Again, SPC is used to monitor the outgoing quality and consistency of every lot of Silecs Material. This ensures consistently pure, highly uniform product, ready for production of the most advanced device designs.
Process Application — A Measure of Success
In the past, electronic materials suppliers have typically shipped their finished materials directly to customers, who are left to work out the kinks of integration into the device production process. At Silecs, we've gone a step further, establishing a world-class Process Applications Lab. Here, our materials are put to the test on a pilot semiconductor production line, going through the same process steps that our customers use in their facilities. We can rapidly process customer wafers or develop new processes for our materials on-site, ensuring that customers can easily—and confidently—incorporate Silecs' products on their high volume production lines.
