Silecs ISO 9001 Certification Expanded to New High Volumn Production Site

Microelectronics materials supplier receives re-certification for all existing production, design, development and testing facilities

Espoo, Finland, October 12, 2006 – Silecs announced today that its new high volume production facility in Espoo, Finland has successfully passed certification to ISO 9001:2000 standards. All of Silecs' existing production, design, development and test facilities for electronic materials in Espoo were re-certified to the same standard. Adopted in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization in Geneva, Switzerland, the ISO 9001 quality system was created to establish an internationally recognized standard of quality.

"Silecs continues to build its name worldwide as a premier source of critical enabling materials for semiconductors and flat panel displays, and by achieving the ISO 9001:2000 certification for all our production facilities we continue to enhance Silecs' global reputation for quality and consistency," said William McLaughlin, senior director of operations for Silecs. "Silecs is committed to demonstrating quality by exceeding customer expectations and by continuous improvement of its products and services."

The ISO 9000 Standard was written by representatives from 15 countries and published in 1987 by the International Organization of Standards in Geneva, Switzerland. The requirements of the standard are aimed primarily at achieving customer satisfaction by preventing nonconformity at all stages, from production through servicing. The requirements include management, leadership, a pro-active and well-trained work force, customer feedback, measurement, documentation, internal audits and continuous improvement and third-party validation.
