Nissan Chemical to Distribute Silecs' Products in Japan

Joint development of new products provides an expanded offering to customers of both companies

Yokohama, Japan, October 18, 2006 – Nissan Chemical Industries and Silecs, Inc. announced today that the companies have signed an agreement for distribution of Silecs' products in Japan. The initial marketing focus in Japan will be on optical dielectric materials for CMOS and CCD image sensor production, and will later expand to other semiconductor and flat panel display applications. This follows the recent technical qualification of a jointly developed product by a key customer of Nissan. To support this and other customers, Nissan will also carry local inventory at its warehouses in Japan.

"We are pleased to form this alliance, extending our product offerings to include new products developed by Silecs, as well as jointly developed products," said Masaru Iida, director of the Electronic Materials Division of Nissan Chemical Industries. "We have been very impressed by Silecs' development and production capabilities, and are pleased to enter into a long term partnership with Silecs."

"This is a groundbreaking alliance for Silecs, as we expand our market and customer base throughout Asia," said Jack Kokko, chief executive officer of Silecs. "Nissan Chemical is an outstanding partner with excellent customer relationships and strong distribution and manufacturing capabilities, and will provide a solid local source for our products for the Japanese microelectronics market," added Fred McNeil, vice president of sales for Silecs.
