Silecs Appoints Former Intel Vice President/General Manager to Board of Directors
Rob Eckelmann joins materials manufacturer serving semiconductor and flat panel display industries
Mountain View, California, December 19, 2006 – Silecs, Inc., a manufacturer of enabling materials for the microelectronics industry, today announced that Rob Eckelmann has joined its Board of Directors. Eckelmann is a former senior executive of Intel Corporation and currently serves on the boards of several public and private technology companies.
Formerly, Eckelmann was vice president of Intel's sales and marketing group and general manager for European (EMEA) Operations. He also opened Intel offices in Asia-Pacific, including China, India and the emerging markets of Southeast Asia. Eckelmann began his business career at Intel managing international strategy in the office of then-President Andy Grove. Earlier, he served in the United States government, managing international trade policy and development in the technology sector.

Eckelmann holds degrees from Princeton University, the University of Chicago and Williams College. He is on the board of directors at various public and private technology companies, including Wolfson Microelectronics (LSE:WLF.L), Xaar (XAR.L), Visiware, and Emulation & Verification Engineering (EVE).
